Every Friday night, the last players to head to the field to warm up are the line. They are the ones who are very seldom mentioned in the paper and very seldom have their pictures in the paper. Yet, without them, the Mustangs wouldn’t be where they are today.

“I’m the left tackle, the blind side tackle,” senior Bryson Jordan said. “I block for whoever has the ball, whether the quarterback or the running back.”

Jordan also plays on defense.

Junior Davin Heard also plays on both offense and defense. On offense, he plays right tackle.

“I protect the right side and the blind side,” he said. “The hardest part of my job is trying to hook the edge person.”

Playing right guard, junior Andrew Wilson’s job is to block for the quarterback and make sure that no one touches him.

“The hardest part of my job is getting to the second level,” Wilson said.

Senior Demetrius Hunter, who is already committed to play at the next level at Oklahoma University, is the center. His main job is getting the ball into the quarterback’s hands. Wilson also backs him up.

Other players that play on the line are seniors Isaac Morris, Evan Gray and Xavier Jefferson; juniors Carlton Simien, Jr., Cameron Broussard  and Ja’kalen Jenkins and sophomore Joshua Sterling.
