Combined Freshmen/JV Football Claim District Title with Win over Bridge City

The combined team of freshmen and JV football beat Bridge City in their last game of the season, 52-0, at home. The subvarsity team was undefeated for the season.

While the team played outstanding, the play that stood out was a trick play between Marcus Turner and lineman Je’terraius Brown. Turner pitched the ball back and as it bounced off the ground, Brown scooped it up and took it 15 yards for the touchdown.

Tahj Amerson scored on a 20 yard run to begin the scoring and the two point play by Turner was good.  Three plays later, Raymond Mallett scored on a 60 yard punt return. Ruben Ceaser scored after Brown’s touchdown on a 30 yard run and the two point conversion by Turner was again good.

Turner was able to score again on a reverse pass thrown from Amyrian Scott from 15 yards out. Turner scored one a one yard run and threw a 17 yard touchdown pass to Andrew Cooper. Kuyler Jeanmard scored a two point conversion on a Turner pass.

Offensive standouts for the game were Jeanmard, Judah Huerta and William Prewitt. Defensive standouts were Ceaser, Josh Miller and Taylor Leblanc.
