The Mustangs blew past the Silsbee Tigers, 45-20, on Friday night. The Mustangs, who had 371 yards of offense to Silsbees 283, played a sluggish first quarter before exploding in the second quarter.

Elijah Gales, who started the game as quarterback, had a superb outing. He rushed for 113 yards and three touchdowns, threw a 61-yard touchdown pass, and caught two passes for 66 yards.

Quarterback Keyshawn Robinson did a good job getting the ball into the hands of several backs, who were able to push their way through the Silsbee defense for yards. Jamaal Shaw added two touchdowns and picked off Silsbee’s Mason Brisbane to set up a touchdown. Darren Anderson also Dakarion Judge also picked off Brisbane and turned them into touchdowns.

The Tigers earned most of their yards through the air and the Mustang defense almost shut down their ground game, only allowing 73 yards on 33 carries.
